One of the main reasons I became a full time artist is that art makes me happy and fulfilled. But sometimes I can't figure out what to do next, and I get stressed...which makes it worse...which makes me more stressed. And the process starts to roll into waves of creative block. And here I am, stuck once again.
What to do. Well, I'm found the best thing for me is to make SOMETHING. And the lowest bar to get over for me is to run a test of something. Maybe test mystery glass for fusiblilty, maybe test dirt and sand to see if it can be used as an inclusion. The best part about testing is there is no creative risk, it's just a test, not a reflection on my abilities as an artist.
What do you do to move past creative block? Reply to this message and let me know. If we get a good list, I'll send it out in a future email.
In the meantime, I have lots of posts about different glass tests I've done. If you want to try the testing route, maybe that will give you a jump start.
And if you are stuck, I'm right there with you, but this too shall pass!
