December holidays aren't my favorite. There, now you know a thing about me.
I find the holidays make everyone more stressed out, so to help ease things along at family events, I bring crafts.
For both of these tutorials, I precut large trays of strips and then everyone can assemble to their hearts content. Pizza boxes are very handy for transport back to the studio, and can be purchased online or at restaurant supply stores.
These are also great for workshops in your studio or ladies night events.
Fused Glass Snowflakes
Fused glass snowflakes are a great party activity, precut the glass strips, bring lots of bottles of glue and with some supervision, even the kids can make pretty things. This tutorial includes firing schedule and downloadable snowflake patterns (PDF).
Easier than snowflakes, these stars all use the same size strips, so one batch of cutting sets your party up for a bunch of different options. The tutorial covers multiple styles of stars. Although I'm using bottle glass, the designs apply to all fusible glass types.
Still have a couple of spaces for this class in January!

Intro to Fusing Class - Thursdays
Beginning fusing class. This class is great fun, 2 weeks with recycled glass and 2 weeks with fusible art glass, so no matter what path your glass journey takes, you have a solid foundation in glass theory and knowledge.
